Domestic Dispute Leads to Stabbing

 
On May 17, 2010, Keith Waters, 39, of 4116 Scott Trail in Morganton, NC was involved in a domestic dispute with his wife, Tammy Marie Waters.

During this dispute, Keith Waters assaulted his wife by stabbing her in the chest with a knife. Waters is currently wanted for assault with a deadly weapon inflicting serious injury with intent to kill.
 
On Monday, May 17, 2010 at 4:34 am, Burke County Sheriff's deputies responded to a reported stabbing at 4116 Scott Trail in Morganton, NC.
 
Upon arrival deputies found the victim, Tammy Marie Waters, lying on the floor with a stab wound to her chest.
 
Deputies learned the suspect, Keith Waters, had left the scene before their arrival. Deputies contacted Burke County Emergency Services and the victim was transported to Grace Hospital for treatment.
 
Burke County Sheriff's Office Criminal Investigations Division was contacted to investigate. Investigators learned the victim and suspect are married and had been arguing earlier in the morning around 3:30 am. The suspect threatened the victim with a knife at that time.
 
The suspect, Keith Waters, left the residence and then returned a short time later. Things were calm for a while, until another argument ensued, and the victim stated she was going to leave the residence.
 
At that time the suspect stabbed the victim in the chest with a knife. The suspect then fled the scene in a white Cadillac Escalade bearing NC license plate XXV-4056.
 
Detectives have charged Keith Waters with assault with a deadly weapon inflicting serious injury with intent to kill. Detectives received information the suspect may be headed to Greenville, SC.
