Arrest Made in Stolen Copper Cases

 
 
Keener Monroe Lackey, 39 Harry Alan McCall, 47
 
Keener Monroe Lackey, of 7148 Hildebran Mountain Ave. Connelly Springs, NC, has been arrested and charged with felony breaking and entering, felony larceny, and felony possession of stolen goods. 
 
Harry Alan McCall, of 1646 Baton School Rd. Granite Falls, NC, has been charged with felony breaking and entering, felony larceny, and felony possession of stolen goods. McCall has not been located.
 
On Monday, August 9, 2010, Senator Jim Jacumin reported to the Burke County Sheriff's Office that his building, Morganton Pressure Vessel, located off Cavalier Way in Icard was broken into and $800.00 worth of electrical wiring containing copper was stolen.
 
On Tuesday, August 10, 2010, Senator Jim Jacumin reported another break-in occurring at the same building. Approximately $10,000.00 worth of electrical wiring was taken during the incident.
 
Detectives processed the scene and collected evidence. Detectives then went to McKinney Metals in Hildebran where they located receipts providing the names of two suspects in the cases, Keener Lackey and Harry McCall.
 
Lackey and McCall sold McKinney Metals 86 pounds of copper on August 9, 2010, and
128 pounds of copper on August 11, 2010 receiving a total of $747.00.
 
Keener Lackey was located and arrested on August 12, 2010 for his involvement in the incident that occurred on August 9, 2010 and additional charges are pending. He was placed under a $15,000.00 secured bond and his first court appearance was August 13, 2010.
 
Detectives have not been able to locate Harry McCall and warrants have been issued for his involvement in the incident that occurred on August 10, 2010, with additional charges pending.
 
McCall is possibly in the Granite Falls area and if anyone has any information as to his whereabouts please call Crime Stoppers at 828-437-3333. A reward is available for information leading to his arrest.
