On Monday, March 17, 2008, at approximately 8:22 pm, the Burke County Sheriff's Office received a call from CVS Pharmacy located in Rutherford College in reference to a reported armed robbery at their store.

The employee at the store reported that a white male wearing a black hooded sweat jacket, and a grey colored "beanie" type toboggan, came into the store and took an envelope from the greeting card section, and a black eye liner pencil and wrote a note to the employee demanding hydrocodone.

The employee said the male showed a small black handgun that he took from his pocket. She reported she then gave him the medication. The white male then left the store on foot.
